The Museum of Science and Industry Crime Lab is the most popular learning lab at the museum. In the program, students become forensic investigators as they solve a “crime” at the museum. They work in teams to analyze evidence (fingerprints, white powders, ink, fibers, and footwear impressions) to determine who stole a valuable object from the museum.
I co-lead the redesign and development of the program. In this role I was responsible for the design of the course and related materials. I also worked hand in hand with the video projection and graphic design teams.
The final product consisted of a 65 minute course designed for 4th-8th grade students and related teacher resources designed to be used before and after the course.
